Dear Chinese Language Teachers of Victoria,
My name is David Davies and I am involved in helping the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA) [www.acya.org.au] roll out a special program for high school students called the 'Engaging China project'. We highlight the value and benefits of continuing their studies of Chinese and China. We will talk about gap year opportunities, student exchange and the many Chinese programs offered at the tertiary level in Australia. We have already delivered the program to a number of schools in Victoria and the ACT and are eager to continue doing so.
Our presenters are young Australians — all exceptionally knowledgeable about China and acutely aware of the opportunities that currently exist for Australians who have a profound knowledge of China and Chinese.
I hope that you will invite an ACYA speaker to give the presentation, free of charge. We are able to fit in with your requirements and are happy to present for anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes, this includes a PowerPoint with video content.
To book an ACYA speaker for this semester, or make further enquiries about our Engaging China project, please email me at david.davies@acya.org.au or call on 0421634196.
I look forward to hearing from you and encourage you and your students to visit us on the web at www.acya.org.au, where you will find a wealth of information, including details of our forthcoming inaugural Australia-China Youth Dialogue, to be held in Beijing and Shanghai this October.
Kind regards,
David Davies
